Kasturi

Yesterday's Flash News: Roger Federer Beats Andy Murray to win Fifth consecutive US Open.

Andy Murray's was very happy to reach his first semi final. "He(Federer)'s got loads of experience in these situations(playing US Open final), and it's something new for me," Murray said on his semi final wins "I know I'm going to have to play great to have a chance of winning, but I've played well the last couple of weeks”. Some people say-Your attitude can determine your happiness and your success and Andy Murray made his choice with his attitude and was happy with his semi final win.

Kasturi also made her choice in "
Ya Sukhano Ya" serial. She rejected her middle class background and was so attracted to the glamorous life that she even forgot that she was married and get invloved with the wrong person. Her brother-in-law distances himself and asked her to live the house as he is convinced that the pregnant Kasturi is not carrying their baby to which Kasturi refutes the charges. Her Vahini support her and is very keen in helping her but it creates a problems in her marriage.

As I indicated in previous blog, decisions made by one person can impact positively or negatively on the other person's life. A decision by Kasturi impacted the life of people around her.

Will Dada Adhikari come to help Kasturi? What will Vahini do to help Kasturi?

I will write more about it on my next blog.

Ya Sukhano Ya

My colleague Kas and I were taking a stroll after lunch when the topic turned to the shows on GluTV. I told Kas that my parents like to watch "Ya Sukhano Ya" and "Vahini Saheb" regularly and how the choice of the GluTV audience is quite different, with Asambhav being the overwhelmingly popular show on Zee Marathi. It was evident that different shows appeal to different demographic groups and it would be interesting to see what made the shows different and therefore appealing to one group and not the other. Kas later suggested that I should write a blog on "Asambhav" v/s "Ya Sukhano Ya".

Humm. The Idea is great but there is a little problem— I speak Mahinglish, a fusion of Marathi, Hindi and English and some of you may not understand everything I write. Anyway, mandali if you follow my blogs you too will become familiar with Mahinglish.

How should I compare "
Asambhav" and "Ya Sukhano Ya"? Asambhav is filled with revenge, incarnation, premonition etc while "Ya Sukhano Ya" is the story of "Pursuit of Happiness"(- not even close to the Will Smith's "Pursuit of Happiness" movie.) (Just wanted to spat that Will Smith Movie comparison Kida before it comes to your mind). On second thought, Instead of looking at violence v/s Happiness , I will just be blogging about "Ya Sukhano Ya."

"Sukh"= "Happiness".

Wikipedia say "Happiness is an emotion associated with feelings ranging from contentment and satisfaction to bliss and intense joy." The different characters in "
Ya Sukhano Ya" story have different approaches to achieve happiness. Nevertheless, because their lives are so intertwined that decisions made by one person can impact positively or negatively on the other person's life. There is this Doctor-Abhay who thinks earning more money can make him happy and then there is Kasturi who think spending more money and living a glamorous life can make her happy. Then there is this Dada Adhikari who thinks that his traditional family values can bring happiness. The story is very complex and very cleverly done.

I am going to stop here and will blog more about it later.
